Poky Week 9

Hello everyone! Good to hear from you all. I hope your enjoying the new football season as it is killing me. Probably my favorite time of the year. But i love the lord more than football. Sounds like everyone is doing well. Good to hear. I didnt know tyler was applying to the mtc? Thats cool. He would be awesome. My spanish is getting good now as well so thats a positive. Hope the cabin isnt un-accessable. Not much has happened at all this week. The work is slow. Were struggling to find people and keep people. But with that being said there has been many miracles. I am ready for argentina however....i want to see my mtc district elders and sisters. 

Tuesday- district meeting, then lunch at china buffet as always. We then had exchanges with elder Morales and cooley. I went with Morales up to firth. We taught 5 lessons that night and set a few dates. Then we woke up the next morning to play ball with the old dudes. The old dudes have this pride issue and they actually foul us hard and play dirty. They beat us 3 out of 4 games. I dotn know how but i was mad after haha. They are cheap dirty swasty old dudes that cheat. But its all fun and something to do. 

Wednsday- We met the sister at the church at 10 am after playing ball and gave them keys or something then met Finau and Cooley at Wingers for lunch. Where a member payed for us. It was very good as always. We later went tracting and helped a lady get a washer and dryer for her new house. She was a busy body. I was tired after being around her for 2 hours. We had tacos for dinner outside and it started raining. Quite awkward. My cup was getting water down by teh rain. Juice wasnt as good after that. But its ok. It was fun. Then we went to Rupes Burgers cause i was starving. We get free food there always but i still leave a tip cause we go there a lot. That night we got home and called our dinner appointment for the next night and he said he was out of town so he would call rupes and pay for us that way. So yay! Rupes again! Its good by the way.

Thursday- Boring as junk. But I read D and C 129. It was cool. Talks about how you tell if someone is an angel, or spirit, or demon or something. Crazy stuff. The D&C is nuts about berries! Crazy stuff. But then we weekly planned. Went to Rupes again. Payed for again so it was free! Not much happened later.

Friday- Rupes...yet again for lunch. Elder abbott wanted to for his B-day. So we went. LAter, we had a mexican party. Carlos, with the red truck, brought his subs and DJ mix system thing and played music at the church loud. Everyone would pull in the church and look at us from the busy street there in blackfoot. Non members as well. But we had good food and corn on the cob with mayo and cheese. It was flipping gooood. I had 3. Then we went home and gave elder butler a blessing because he was sick.

Saturday- Went to an appointment at 10 am. This guys name was RED. Long beard, red hair, freckles. He tried "teaching us" a message about how we are like flowers and how we need land. I have no idea...he was a whackadooodle no doubt. He is moving to lebannon because thats where its at apparently. He can grow his own farm and feed himself lol. I told him the USA is where i want to raise my family. He was pretty dumb but we were nice and taught him about the restoration. He laughed when i testified about Thomas S. Monson being a latter day prophet today and i got mad and told him that wae dont laugh at him and i told him he was mocking god by laughing. He shut up the rest the time. Not very christlike for such a "spiritual" dude. He said he read the quran and all other bibles/books and they are all true cause they are of god. He was nuts about berries. 

Sunday- Got up at 6 for a early meeting. Then appointment with crazy red again. Then church 1-4. Then a member brought us chicken dinner. It was good. But that was all that happened. We play nerf basketball in the apartment at lunch haha. You sit in a chair and throw it in the hoop. 3 chairs. 2 points for the longer ones and 1 point for the shorter chair. Finau is at 15 im at 11 Abbot is 9 and butler 8. Its our way of coping with football season. We will accumulate points throughout the transfer. So ya thats whats been going on in blackfoot. OH! last night (saturday night) RICARDO called us and asked if we could help him learn the scriptures better. So we will be helping him tuesday night and hopefully re-set his date. He needs to come to church though. He works 70-80 hours a week! but hopefully he can get around to baptism. He has already prayed and he knows it s right.

Poky Week 8

Hola familia! Right off the bat i just want to say that Elder floyd, the driver is fine and is going to keep going with his mission. He is strong and doing well. Most the rumors you hear are wrong. But oh well. Its not important. Elder Ward is still serving elsewhere in the spirit world. We got to say goodbye at his viewing saturday. Sad news. Tragic and we are all shocked. But we cant stop working. It made us work harder. He is fueling us right now. It was a tiring week but somehow were all golden.

 

I am sad to think about the little girl who shot herself in yellowstone. That is about the most tragic thing ever. But she goes straight to the top after this life so thats something to think about. Life is fragile. Things happen. Its hard. I hope i never have to experience anything like that again with Elder Ward and also Emma K. So sad. Everyone be careful please.

 

This week was fun for me. The East Idaho Fair was in town this week. HUGE fair. HUGE. I saw my roomate in college. DEREK JUDD needs to read this letter. He knows my roomate OH and lindsey too. His name is Kyle. He is hilarious and seeing him was fun. But made me miss college haha. But ya Heres how the week  went.

 

Tuesday- Zone conference, 8 am to 4 pm. After, it flooded and was raining like cats and dogs in poky. We almost got stuck on a river of water. Then we drove back to blackfoot. We got home and about 20 minutes later we got the voicemail that Elder Floyd and Ward were in an accident. We went to see Floyd in blackfoot and give him a blessing, etc. We didnt know any details that night.

 

 

Wednesday- Finau cut my hair, a Polynesian cut. Where my hair is like a mohawk and is long in the back. Its cool. But after my haircut, we got a nightmare voicmail from president that Ward didnt make it. He passed at 10 am wednesday, or was taken off life support at this time. We went to the fair and tried to get our spirits up. We talked to a lot of people and played a little here and there but ultimately we were just bummed about the accident.

 

Thursday- I dont even remember, we just tracted and visited people.

 

Friday- Went to the fair again. Passed out 7 Book of mormons and ate free food everywhere. Teriyaki bowls, tiger ears, ice cream, turkey legs, you name it. Love the fair. Lots of people wanted to fight us for some reason and threw stuff at us. And yelled. But i lvoe adversity. And i have elder Finau haha to back me up. So thats what we did cause everyone is at the fair.

 

 

Saturday- We had a lesson with Luis Alfredo, our investigator who just showed up to church one day with a member. He accepted baptism and is going to be baptized hopefully in october. During the day we had sports day where members and investigators meet at a church and play soccer or ball or vollleyball. That was alright.

 

 

Sunday- Studied, went to church, went to the Boyd familys house for cake. The boyd family is like my family away from home. They feed us all the time and gave us monopoly. And they are unique family, very loud and immature lol. But i think its funny.

That night we found the Galvan family and talked about the gospel. They love it. The dad said he was having experiences at night at 2 am seeing a white light in front of his face this has happened over 4 months 4 times. So he is a believer and wants to hear more.

Poky Week 7

Hello everyone. Well. I pretty much laughed at the entire email. Mainly just at Tyler. He is a stud. A girls number in a waffle box!? What the junk. Thats BOSS status. Maybe i will be on his level one day. He is un guapo muchacho. En serio. He will be married by the time im back guarunteed. So thats funny. Sounds like Heather is doing well tambien Kevin with his job. Happy birthday to everyone who has a birthday again. I miss you all and send my best wishes. Anyways, MOM, keep golfing! Dont grip the club so hard allow the club to do the work. Hawaii will be better if you do that. Sounds like home is good! Keep up the good work family.

My week was good. A little slow but always good. No complaints here! I got to golf this week and eat cow brains! Also, we had transfers and teh new elder, our neighbor, Elder Abbot is a baller. So our area is possibly the most baller in the mission. But Things are well. 

Monday- P-day. We....went to IF again. and played risk. Thats about it haha.

Tuesday- District Meeting. We left early to go watch the Joseph smith movie with Ricardo, MMA fighter. Then tracted and stuff.

Wednesday- NO recuerdo

Thursday- We visited teh Maria family and are getting close with them. We are about to re-activate JR and Ozzie. They are struggling tho right now. But ya we talk about cars and basketball and stuff.

Friday- We played hackie sack with some kids on the street and it was fun. 

Saturday- Dang i dont remember. Oh wait! We went to the fair. It was fun. We made 40 bucks from members. The fair is HUGE. BUSY. lots of people. Theres a family history booth for the church. We got outta there quick tho so many rated R drewsed girls....plus people were not open to talking haha.

Sunday- We went to the maria's house at 8 am and studied with JR and Ozzie and basically jusdt talked and they love us now. They invite us over everyday and Ozzie always wants to hangout with us. Were taking Sam, their other son to the fair. 

This morning we went golfing. It was rainy the whole time but amazing! Were going next week for 18. And breakfast. Things are great! I am excited to see yall in 21 months and get a job and a car. Elder Finau can hook me up with a job in Hawaii after the mission. He can pay for my airline ticket too because his dads works for the airport. ALSO, the gut i golfed with today can hook me up with a job selling alarms. Its a little less appealing tho because if you dont sell alarms....you dont make a cent. But some people make 30k. I would love to do that but i would look into it more. ANyways, im not focusing on going home at all. I love it here. Mission life is good. I just need to plan my future as well. Life doesnt end after the mission. ANyways love yall got to go!
